Caroline has been a leading Litigation Partner and Head of
the Litigation Department in A&L Goodbody, Solicitors. As such, she had a major role in the leadership of
the firm, one of the largest in Ireland. She qualified as a solicitor in 1980 having
studied History and Political Science at Trinity College, Dublin and Law the
Incorporated Law Society. She was privileged to be appointed Solicitor to the
Attorney General in 1994, the first woman to hold this prestigious post. Highly
and widely recommended as an expert in her field, she has managed major domestic
and international commercial litigation on behalf of her clients across a range of
sectors. She has an extensive knowledge and experience of governance issues facing Boards and Management. She has advised on Boardroom and Shareholder disputes, Directors' fiduciary duties and responsibilities, and corporate risk strategy and planning. She has dealt with difficult |

issues arising with joint ventures, employment matters,
product liability and cross border disputes. In addition to business and commercial
disputes she also has experience with problems relating to personal, family and
family businesses. She retired as a partner in 2008 to pursue her career as an Accredited Mediator. An experienced negotiator, facilitator and mediator, she is focused on bringing speedy and practical resolution to problems dividing people and businesses, applying common sense and a wealth of experience. She is a founding member and past President of the International Women's Forum of Ireland, an organization of pre-eminent women which furthers dynamic leadership, leverages global access and maximizes opportunities for women to exert their influence. Caroline has served on a number of charitable Boards and is currently Chair of the Board of Governors of St Patrick's University Hospital, a leading charitable hospital for the treatment of the mentally ill founded by Dean Jonathan Swift.
